Waypoints, 2022
These small drawings (each 6 x 4.5 in.) combine somewhat old-fashioned micro-stories of one or two sentences with abstract line drawings meant to evoke the work of Bauhaus masters like the analytical drawings done by Wassily Kandinsky's students, or the mid-30s abstract line drawings of Josef Albers. The stories and drawings are paired by affinity and the drawings neither illustrate the stories, nor do the stories caption the drawings. The drawings were all executed with india ink in a ruling pen and the lettering added with a Remington Portable typewriter.
