Studies of Tangles, 2012–present

I've been fascinated by the forms of tangles for quite a long time. Probably this fascination began with a collaborative project with Fritz Horstman, in which we replicated some of Anni Albers's famous knot drawings and prints in string, which we then pulled tight into chaotic, tangled knots. Since then, tangles are a motif I've enjoyed exploring. I've made drawings, photograms, and small sculptures featuring tangles. The gallery below features some examples.
